Allison Henry (Valley Community Services Board) shows us an abandoned tent site in a “tent city” deep in the woods. When Allison isn’t providing direct services to community members, she’s educating the community on the underlying causes of homelessness and housing insecurity.  She feels she is combatting a narrative that most homelessness stems from a character flaw and suggests we ask with sympathy ‘what happened to you?’ and not ‘what did you do to get in this situation?’
